Many of us don't really *need* that stimulus check - why not pass it on to those that do?

We're highlighting 3 very worthy agencies here in the High Country that could put that stimulus money to *good* use. One helps abused children, one helps youth in trauma or adverse situations, and one helps anyone who falls through the cracks of our systems. All three have specific needs right now - see details below, and comment with any questions! Thanks for loving your neighbor, being a light to the world, and serving your community!

WESTERN YOUTH NETWORK (WYN) serves youth in the High Country who have experienced trauma or other adverse conditions with counseling, safe spaces to gather, programming, and mentoring. Right now, WYN is seeking 200 people to give $225 each to sustain their pandemic response of continuing to reach out to youth from January through June.

QUIET GIVERS is a non-profit in the High Country that serves those in our community that fall between the cracks. All needs are passed on to Quiet Givers by a local agency that is unable to help the person. Right now they have two on-going funds that are very much in need of constant replenishing:
We've had several folks ask about donating their stimulus checks, and we're asking folks to donate those to our Home for the Holidays housing fund, or our Heat Up the High Country heating fuel fund. These two funds cover our most expensive needs, our heating fill-ups average around $300 each and rent payments average around $600 or more if the people are behind on their rent. All donations made to these funds go directly toward program services and will go a long way toward helping us keep folks warm and in their homes through the winter months. Or make a contribution to our general fund to help us cover emergency needs and expenses of all kinds. Simply select the fund you wish to support from the drop down menu via the link below. Whether you donate some of your stimulus or all of it, you can help us provide our own High Country stimulus for those who need extra assistance during this time.
