Feeding ministries are where most of our service is oriented.  According to 2019 Census reporting, Watauga County's poverty rate is over 21%.  It is estimated by our local service agencies that 1 out of every 4 students in Watauga County come from food insecure homes.  With such great need in our own backyard, most of our feeding ministries are highly localized - focused on the families at our local school, while also participating in some ministries in the wider county as well.  Below, you'll find out about some of them.

Green Valley Churches helping local families

We coordinate this ministry among the other churches in the Green Valley community to support food insecure families, whose children attend Green Valley School, through the Summer months.  To participate, stay tuned to our Events page.

We coordinate with the Green Valley churches to help food insecure families from Green Valley School by providing a Thanksgiving meal box and a few boxes to help families through the Christmas break from school.

A Simple Gesture
Helping stock a local food pantry

Giving to local food pantry, Hunger and Health Coalition, couldn't be simpler.  Take a green bag home, fill it, and bring it back to church to be collected.  It's that simple!
